Dog Food and Cars

Right next to the garage is a dog food company that takes up a whole block on the pier roads. The owner and the garage have a kind of working relationship with each other: the garage does some work on old cars that the dog food company uses for jobs and ... well, I have no idea what the garage gets out of it. I've never seen any dogs in the shop, so I'm just going to assume nothing.

Just stopped by the place to get some sleep, then it's back to work. I guess it does pay to know the right people. The dog food company likes my work so much their throwing some free lance stuff my way.

More respect. It's about time.

Old Buddies, New Enemies

I seem to run into a lot of my old buddies at the rescue squad when they're out on calls. I guess it's sort of a mutual job type of thing that makes that happen.

I wouldn't say that we got all real close when I was driving the rig, but the more people you know around here the better. Keep your enemies close and your friends closer, I always say. You'll never know when you need a close friend for those times when you have to deal with an enemy.

It's too bad we never have a chance to chat anymore. It seems like the only way to get with those guys again is to be at the scene of an accident. I'm going to have to see what I can do about changing that. But for the time being, and in this city, it seems to work out well.
